Updates from the Island

Ready to go the the b'day party.  What you can't see is the street sign that says Fen Way.

Life is flying by like a speeding bullet, so here's a quick update:

We had a GREAT time in Rome.  Check out our Flickr page to see the pics.  The food and wine were amazing and the art and culture overwhelming.
Top 5 favorite Things about Rome (in no particular order):
1) The Wine and Food
2) The gellato's
3) The Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Bascillica
4) Time to hang out with just Tim
5) The other amazing sights in Rome (Colosseum, Forum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, and a few more)

Top Five Things I could do without in Rome:
1) Visiting a crypt decorated with old bones
2) The ever present and annoying street vendors
3) Graffiti
4) Loud Americans
5) Paying 9 euro for an espresso and cappuccino

Ollie had a birthday party on Saturday afternoon with his pals Will and Bryson.  Between the three boys, we had quite the party!  Ollie didn't stop until we strapped him in the car to go home.  He had more sugar that day than I think he's ever had before.  While looking for a recipe for a b'day cake, I discovered that vegan = no dairy and no eggs.  Hallelujah!  Despite my cooking efforts, O did not enjoy a baseball cupcake.  Skittles please, Mommy.

Ollie still amazes Tim and I everyday.  O man is still a whirling dervish most of the time.  His favorite thing is to say that he's fallen down.  While the kid takes his fair share of toddler diggers, he's usually referring to imagined falls.  His imagination runs wild, as we shooed an invisible bee out of the living room this afternoon.  Man, is Ollie a ton of fun.
